Thameen London is a niche, luxury, British brand, which realises the founder’s vision of combining Eastern opulence with Western refinement.

I recently visited their beautiful corner in Selfridges where all the perfumes are displayed and had an opportunity to try the gem inspired scents.

Thameen, meaning precious, has been inspired by the close relationship of jewels and fragrance throughout the ages and has married them into beautiful creations .
The Treasure Collection has 12 perfumes with exquisite names and very long lasting formulas: Amber Room, Carved Oud, Green Pearl, Moon of Baroda, Nassak, Noorolain Taif, Peacock Throne, Regent Leather, Rivière, The Hope, The Cora & Kiani

After trying them all my 3 favourite ones are:
Green Pearl with notes of Bergamot, Mandarin, Neroli, Apple, Artemisia, Tea, Pepper, Oakmoss, Musk & Tonka. A very fresh and sparkling chypre that opens with a bite of fresh apple enhanced by the freshness of aromatic citruses and neroli before the trail of a herbal heart leads you to a mossy, powdery and musky dry down that feels very refined.

Regent Leather with notes of Sicilian Lemon, Jasmine, Saffron, Cardamom, Rose, Patchouli, Cedar wood, Gurjum, Vanilla, Animalic, Musk & Labdanum. One of the softest leather scents of the market, where supple suede blends with spices and flowers and elegant woods like the ones you'd find in a Rolls Royce interior, before it dries down to a sweet vanillic scent with a patchouli kick and a resinous labdanum finish.

Peacock Throne with notes of Sicilian Lemon Oil, Pink Pepper, Nutmeg, Taif Rose, Ylang-Ylang, Turkish Rose, Jasmine, Haitian Vetiver, Patchouli, Sandalwood & Vanilla. This is the kind of perfume to wear if you want to be noticed. A blooming floral scent, larger than life, it starts fresh and spicy tingling your senses before the lush roses and the intoxicating blend of jasmine and ylang take over , sprinkled with powdery orris that adds depth while vetiver and patchouli add a beautiful aromatic layer before the creaminess of sandalwood and sweet vanilla wrap up the composition. A scent designed for seduction

To celebrate Thameen’s 5th anniversary the Sovereign Collection was released with 3 perfumes, Imperial Crown, Diadem & Sceptre inspired by the mystery and majesty of a royal coronation. Each fragrance represents the key pieces from the British crown jewels as on the day of the anointing of a new monarch, the Imperial Crown and British State Diadem are worn by the sovereign and royal consort respectively, while sceptres are carried by all central members of the ceremony.

Each Sovereign Collection fragrance uses a central ingredient that is considered the best of its kind: IMPERIAL CROWN – Somali Frankincense DIADEM – Omani Frankincese SCEPTRE – Somali Myrrh
My favourite of the three is Sceptre that uses myrrh as the signature note, a divine ingredient at the heart of royal ceremonies across the ages. Myrrh is one of the oldest perfume ingredients used since the ancient times in religious and royal ceremonies and its value as an ingredient has always been celebrated.

With notes of Coriander, Madagascar Cloves, Brazilian Pink Peppercorn, Peach, Wisteria, African Ylang Ylang , Patchouli, Amber, Ambergris , Somali Myrrh & Siam Benzoin this exquisite scent truly reflects the splendour of the Sceptre. It's a warm and welcoming scent close to the skin but very long lasting, it feels cozy and regal; almost mystical. Myrrh is present from the beginning, engaging with the spices on top, receiving a layer of sweetness from the peach and patchouli while beautiful wisteria and ylang add a sensuality that only gets enhanced by the ambergris, the benzoin and amber from the base notes. If you like myrrh, this precious ingredient this is a perfume you must definitely try.
Thameen perfumes are available through their website and at Selfridges. I urge you if you are in London to visit their beautiful corner!
