May has finally arrived and since the sun is shinning (or will be soon anyway depending on where you live) I thought it'd be a good idea to introduce you to the new member of the Cheap an Chic family!
The iconic Olive Oyl is wearing her Moschino summer dress designed by Jeremy Scott. With notes of bitter orange, raspberry and blackcurrant sorbet, Popeye’s girlfriend is feeling youthful, fruity and ready for her holiday.
I was a big fan of the vintage Popeye series and found Olive's character and shape fascinating so when the first bottle of Cheap and Chic was released I added it to my collection. The fragrance was - and still is - lovely, fruity and citrusy at the same time and in the more than 20 years of its history it has received some of the most prestigious awards and honours around the world.
The new Cheap and Chic So Real bottle faithfully recalls the historical Olive Oyl shapes by Moschino Cheap & Chic but this time she wears a coloured, transparent dress that draws attention to the iconic symbolism designed by Jeremy Scott.
The case also takes on the symbolism of the dress and is wrapped with a gold-coloured band which lends a touch of elegance and refinement.
The opening of the fragrance is brightened by bitter orange accompanied by delicious mandarin. Raspberry and black currant sorbet gives a wink to this citrusy ballad. Pink peony with its thousands of facets opens up the dance to jasmine petals, sunny and airy, and to magnolia blossoms. A lively, vibrant floral alchemy that transports us to an irrestistible base of cedar, oak musk and ambroxan crystals.
This new interpretation of Olive is more lively, fresh and breezy with a contemporary twist. Easy to wear, a sparkling pretty floral with mysky drydown, perfect for spring! And the bottle is to die for!
