Old School Bench is the 8th Chapter of Volume 1 of the SCENT STORIES Collection.
“A noir memory of young artists etching in school.
Pencil shavings, charcoal on paper, blackboards & vintage desks.”
The notes are:
Top: Lemon, Bergamot & Angelica Root
Heart: Geranium, Rum, Cocoa & Wood Wax
Base: Cedarwood, Vanilla, Patchouli & Vetyver
Experimenting with images and smells, hence the name #ScentStories, MiN New York try with scent story no.8 to bring into life the smell of an old art school bench, full of memories.
This perfume releases all of its notes almost simultaneously, the citrus notes with the Angelica blasting in a split second and followed by the heart notes that bring to life the smell of an aged wooden bench, scrawled with badly drawn sketches and poems declaring young love. Left in the courtyard, beaten by rain and wind, a slight musty note emerges, that is somehow sweet due to the vanilla and patchouli but also dry due to vetiver that also helps enhance the woody facet of the perfume.
If that perfume had no name to relate it to this image, I would say it’s a sweet and densely built perfume around wood and patchouli, sweetened by vanilla and given depth and mystery by cocoa, vetiver and rum. Overall I like it very much, it’s perfect for cold weather and lasts a very long time on my sin. One of my favourites from this collection so far!
